Restaurant Erlibacherhof, Seestrasse, Erlenbach

Soccer practice – what else – led me to this place on the Seestrasse. It’s a hotel with a restaurant, which makes a rather functional impression. The dining room is divided into two sections, one with tablecloths for the diners and one with regular tables which caters to the drinkers. I was in a bit of a rush and wasn’t to thrilled that I was seated without being given a menu. A couple of minutes later the situation was rectified. I flipped through it and decided to go for a Tarte Flambee (Flammkuchen) Forrestiere, which means mushrooms, onion, chives, sour cream and bacon. It was freshly baked (anything else would be a major crime) but the ingredients were too fatty and heavy, it was a bit overloaded. Still the restaurant was surprisingly full and seems to be popular with the locals. Price was okay for a quick meal:

Uh, the E-Hof! Riesen Cordon-Bleu or Schnitzel Pommes Frites, the only decent thing on the menu. I guess. Our german friend tried Spaghetti Pesto and got a plate of yesterdays pasta heated in the microwave, tossed with rancid pesto and to top it off: The spaghetti were cut up. He didn’t want to complain, as germans are not that popular at the moment 🙂
Did you have to experience the touchy owner of this place, Slavi or something? Always trying to be the italian capo, doesn’t quiet work, patting on your back and asking how your wife is. If you have more time and you get lucky, try the pizzeria just up the street, Fiorello? They make good pizzas…

Wait till you hear the story about the fingernail in the ice cream bowl….. I’ve hear strange things about this place as well. I’ll give the Fiorello a try.
