Hirslanderhof, Forchstrasse, Zurich

It’s getting harder and harder to find restaurants which don’t have a website – it seems that my beloved salesman of 1212.ch is slowing down. The Hirsladnerhof is a small restaurant led by a guy from Appenzell. So after a mixed salad which had too much water cress I had the Cordon bleu a la Appenzell. Essentially it’s filled with Mostbröckli und Appenzeller cheese (which is one of my favourite ones). Some of the cheese was already leaking out of the cordon bleu, the fries were decent and the vegetables were exactly swiss beiz style. I’m pretty sure some Aromat came into play. For a quick neighborhood meal this place is okay, the fun thing was ordering a beer and getting a scratch ticket. I actually won a free Schuetzengarten beer which I directly put to use.
