Central Bar sends out amusing newsletters stating “i write letters, because its fun to get letters back.” And rightly so! One of the letters announced a Champagne and Oyster bash, which I decided warrants a visit. Not wanting to do a lot of thinking, we ordered the large platter aptly named “la grand bouffe”. Snails, oysters, half a lobster, shrimp, langoustines and other tasty fruits of the sea were served. To ensure proper internal irrigation a bottle of champagne went with it. Avid readers know just how picky the real picky gourmet is when it comes to shrimp. The ones here were pretty decent, tasty and perfectly cooked! Kudos to the team for having a good idea and executing it well. This was a great way to start a night.
