Wurstkäsesalat

The weather’s fantastic and after a healthy run in the morning, I have an urge to dine outside. Since my new other favourite past-time is engaging in semi-meaningful banter with females (aka flirting) I decide to combine multiple activites into one – enjoying the sight of beautiful people and trying to find out if there is a good dining spot right off the lake. Piazza right next to Kongresshaus seems to fit.

A large stream of people walking by and a good view of the lake sitting underneath the trees. Since this is summer a light dish felt right so the Wurstkäsesalat catches my eye. Why it takes 20 minutes to prepare is beyond my understanding, but maybe that’s because it’s done with utmost care, love, the freshest ingredients ever and a very special touch by the chef ? Nope, my hopes where shattered. The salad was wilted, the pickles already dried out, the Cervelat very normal, at least the cheese had a bit of a bite to it. Also I wouldn’t bet my life on the sauce which felt very industrial. It goes to show once again, that in a prime location you needn’t work on having good food in Zurich, people will flock to lakeside al fresco dining no matter what. In terms of flirting I did speak to a very funny lady at my table, unfortunately she was more in the generations of my parents. I can only deduce one thing, hot chicks dig great food, hence none of them are hanging around the Piazza.
