Meiers Come Inn, Kaffeegasse, Bülach

Douglas a german drug store company had a slogan “Come in and find out”. For large parts of the German population (being native German speakers) that meant “find your way back out” and refers to the maze such stores tend to be. Meiers come inn in Buelach has a much simpler brand promise, you just need to enter the restaurant. Totally unrelated, but it’s located near the former appartment of an Ex-girlfriend I once almost set on fire, but that anecdote will be featured in my book.
The place is packed. This is on the outskirts of Buelach and far away from any public transport, but it’s obviously well sought after. We start off simple and go for the appetizer platter. It was excellent and certainly one of the best thai appetizer selections I ever had. Nicely decorated, very crisp & nice flavours and obviously something that’s fresh and homemade, you cannot go wrong. Personally the Satay sauce and the filling for the golden cups were our favourites. Where I did go wrong was when I forgot to take a picture of my main course. It seems that my dining companion’s ravishing looks were just too distracting. Mains was a Panaeng curry with duck, which also deserved praise. End of the meal was a platter of Mango which was nice but not spectatuclar. I’ve had mango which was sweeter, jucier and just a tad riper than the ones served here. Still overall I can handsdown recommend Meiers Come Inn as a very good thai restaurant, where the service is pretty good as well. It’s not your average eatery, but a properly run restaurant.
