Burgermeister doesn’t even seem to have a webpage – in the location where the former Körry Art of Wurst used to be they opened up silently and without any marketing it seem. We stumbled over it and decided to try out for lunch – the menu is super small – essentially a few burgers and your choice of fries. We opted for the Chef Burger and the Chili Cheese Fries. To cut to the point – amazing Burger! Compared to the few burger options in the area this one was the best. Not only did it score high on the meat, the bread was great and perfectly toasted. I wasn’t too sure what to make of Chili Cheese fries and I gather they are of sub-average dietary value, but the taste is that of an amazing guilty pleasure. Over-the-top-gooey cheddar with chili con carne meat and some actual chillies made the fries soggy but very tasty. My brain tells me this is not good for you, but my body screams more, more, more. Long story short – body wins, I’ll be back to see if they keep the quality as high as it’s just after opening. It seems that having a very small menu with four burger and two fries options seems to be a good idea.

Fyi – the original burgermeister is located in Berlin and is trendy a f! They are inside an old toilett and have massive amounts of customers every day. Very tasty but boy do they throw fat on everything, my heart wanted to get out of my body and run away.
While people are trying not to die, the staff is resupplying bread and meat with a wheelbarrow (while loud reggae music is playing)
However, do you know if the ZH version is an official burgermeister or did they just copied the concept? (they do habe the chillie fries aswel)
Cheers

I’ve no clue if they are inspired by the Burgermeister in Berlin, yes it’s a greasy burger, but in a good way. There’s no reggae music so I’d argue they are neither offical nor a copy – maybe they got lucky with the name ?
