After a visit to the Verkehrshaus (Swiss museum of transportation) we needed to find a decent place to eat. Our quest led us to the Old Swiss House. At first I was a bit hesitant, I wasn’t sure wether it’s read more…

15. November 2011

The Bären Mägenwil is tricky to reach on a 125cc Scooter, since it involves riding on the Autobahn. The place is packed on a Saturday night. I study the menu and since they pride themselves for chicken, I decide on read more…

The Roi Et offers Thai and Laotian cuisine. We started with a Thai Papaya salad and ordered it “european” hot. The thing was scorching and the next day it literally burned every hair on my butt. I was literally gasping read more…

Sometimes I get lucky. Besides the now defunct el Bulli, there are some other places I can’t just walk into. Swiss Re has a famed on premise restaurant, which is for employees, clients and guests. Interestingly there is a dress read more…

Choose the next restaurant

Have you ever been interested in sending your favorite food critic to a restaurant of your choosing ?

Now it’s possible! The rules are simple, you pay for a dinner for two, including drinks. If it’s outside of Zurich an SBB half-fare ticket is added as well, your choice wether you want to join or not. So as an example if you want me to check out Ömer’s Imbiss, two Kebabs and two beers, plus the ticket would mean coughing up roughly 50 CHF, a visit at Mr. Rochat’s might be a tad more expensive.

Professional Quality Check

Independent, qualified feedback is hard to get.

You’ve seen my blog and you are interested in getting an assessment of your own restaurant / bar / hotel / club / gastronomic enterprise of your choosing. We specialise in checking and overseeing establishments and providing feedback which you can directly leverage to drive your business. We adapt to your premises and can qualify a wide range of establishements. Quite frankly – brothels and strip clubs are not our core competencies – anything else in the department of client entertainment is.

Our fees are comparable to that of an IT consultant or lawyer plus expenses. Contact at therealpickygourmet@gmx.ch
