12. October 2008

The Johanniter is an institution in Zurich. It’s a place which has been around forever and it caters mainly to smokers, drinkers and staunch supporters of good old swiss food. Smoke-aged wood and a big bronze vat make up the read more…

The Spice Gourmet is a strange place, just a 100 meters away from Banhof Enge towards Wollishofen. From the outside it looks like a mixture between a gallery and a restaurant. It’s a very intimate place, since you get the read more…

07. October 2008

The Aargauerhof used to be a real rough place at the corner of Lang- and Hohlstrasse. You’d show up and get a table between the alcoholics and the junkies. Every couple of minutes the waitress (more of a very strict read more…

From the outside the Bernerhof looks rather shabby and rundown on a quick look, but the appearence is deceiving, it’s quite a nice place. The menu caused me to raise an eyebrow. They offer classic austrian food, a “famous” fondue read more…

Choose the next restaurant

Have you ever been interested in sending your favorite food critic to a restaurant of your choosing ?

Now it’s possible! The rules are simple, you pay for a dinner for two, including drinks. If it’s outside of Zurich an SBB half-fare ticket is added as well, your choice wether you want to join or not. So as an example if you want me to check out Ömer’s Imbiss, two Kebabs and two beers, plus the ticket would mean coughing up roughly 50 CHF, a visit at Mr. Rochat’s might be a tad more expensive.
