Restaurant Freihof, Badenerstrasse, Zurich

The Freihof has been relaunched some time ago and besides a Kegelbahn now also sports WiFi. Not sure why you’d be looking for WiFi in this establishmend, maybe for some Online Bowling in case you’re alone, but you’ve got to go with the modern times. I show up shortly after 13:30 and I stil get served. Since this is a place which prides itself on Cordon Bleu, I go with that for lunch. A menu salad comes with it and while not spectacular I did like that they used chineses cabbage to give it a bit of a textural contrast. The Cordon Bleu wasn’t that special, neither the cheese nor the ham felt convincing, especially the cheese felt strange. Fries were so-so, overall I felt the Cordon bleu dish to be somewhat lacking, may they’re Freihof Cordon Bleu in the evening is different.
