If you don’t have a car the not so quaint village of Seon is in the middle of nowhere. Riding my scooter I drive up a pass (Mutschellen) and come across towns such as Villmergen until after some circling around I find it. I’ve been here before but I guess my internal GPS is off. The last time I’ve been here it was around the same time and I really enjoyed they’re beginnig of spring theme, sporting asparagus and ramson (Bärlauch).

A piece of terrine is served as a first course before I start with what I’ve been looking forward to all day, pretty perfect scrambled eggs with freshly plucked ramson. The silkyness of the eggs are unbelievable and the sharp contrast of the perky ramson makes this a great dish.

The asparagus soup carried too much cream for my taste, so I stick to the asparagus salad in a crunchy potato basket. Another highlight are the fresh noodles with a ramson cream sauce, I just like it so much, there’s really nothing to complain. I finish with a piece of fish served with roeshti cakes and asparagus and a classic Napolean. I like the place, I like the finesse of the kitchen (minus the asparagus soup) and the vibe of the place.

  1. noodles indeed look pretty awesome, while the rösti is so tiny, it’s almost not worth mentioning… 😉

  2. how funny – I grew up in Seon! Most people living there are not even aware of this place, might be too haut cuisine for the locals…
