Bi Ois just opened up in Kreis 5. Interesting enough one of those places I still had an article ready was Passione the predecessor of Bi Ois which is now no longer needed. Anyway onwards with the current. The Bi Ois has a pretty clear statement, Swiss quality food. The menu is concise and it’s a bit of a difficult task to pick something, since everything sounds enticing. The only slight oddity is that the Cervelat-Cheese salad is featured on the seasonal speciality menu – Cervelat is always in season!

The first dish was a small glass with carrot salad (Rüebli Salat im Glas), small complaint that I would have preferred more sauce on the salad, but otherwise good. Then again, as long as the carrots are fresh, there’s not much one can get wrong. Fleischvögel (literally meat birds or rouladen) with mashed potatoes were the next dish. They were almost as good as my moms. Obviously homemade, with all the classical elements including some bread in the stuffing were there. My moms do have a little gherkin in the middle, but I guess that’s individual taste. Nice mash, nice sauce! Certainly a winner.

Dessert was a Toblerone mousse, which scored with a nice taste and a surprisingly interesting texture. My friends and I enjoyed the place, service was very friendly and spot on, wine prices are very fair and the food was good. Will be back.
