Andutgel & Gemischter Salat

Andutgel & Gemischter Salat

After a relaxing day cruising on a yacht on the lake of Zurich, walking from the fo’c’sle to the aft deck to sip a refreshing Gin Tonic, it turned out that the galley hadn’t been stocked. Near Hafen Riesbach where the Henry Moore’s Sheep piece (yes – the real picky gourmet.com is expanding into nautical terms and sculptural arts) the Kiosk runs a small outdoor restaurant. The rough wood of the tables transport a beach bar feeling to Zurich and it’s nice to sit here and have a drink. The Andutgel (Salsiz) is nice, but doesn’t say much of the culinary skill of the kitchen. The mixed salad (which was more of a green salad with some other vegetables thrown in, than a true gemischter Salat) had a great italian dressing with balsamic vinegar. Most of the time the balsamic is more added for show, but here it worked nicely. For a quick meal outside on a hot day this is a good place to stop. The only thing which is weird, is that the menu has such things as a 79 CHF Pumpi Poloshirt. Two things come to mind – who would buy a shirt of a restaurant for 80 CHF and secondly why are so many prime lake location run by the same crew ? With Pumpi, Kiosk and Fischer’s Fritz three restaurants on the lakefront are operated by the Pumpstation Gastro GmbH. Interesting.
